DIY Modular Outdoor Kitchen Cabinets & Stone Frames

The Unity System: Base Units + Expansion Options. Zero Cutting Required.

We simplified the custom outdoor kitchen. You don’t need to be a mason, and you don’t need to hire a contractor. You simply need our streamlined system of Unity Smart Modules. By mixing and matching these core masonry blocks, you can build thousands of unique layouts—from simple grill stations to massive U-shaped entertainment hubs—without a single saw cut.

Stop Guessing and Start Planning

Building a stone kitchen is permanent. Your plan should be, too. Most DIY mistakes happen because people buy products before they understand their space. We want to save you from that regret.
Before you select a single module, walk through our 4-Step Design Framework. Start with your ‘Mission Statement’ to define your budget and goals, then use our ‘Big Three’ strategy to map your zones. Finally, use our layout tips and cut-out templates to prove it all fits.

How the Unity Smart Module System Works

We simplified the custom outdoor kitchen. You don’t need a mason or a wet saw to build a professional layout. By combining our standard frames with intelligent ‘Plus’ extensions, you can build professional masonry stations that fit your patio perfectly. Here is the 3-step process:

Unity allowws you to create endless modular outdoor kitchen layouts.

Choose Your Station

Start with the function. Select a Gas Grill, Kamado, Pizza Oven, or Bar module. Each unit is a standalone masonry block designed to fit specific appliances with zero cutting. We eliminate guesswork and adjustments, making the path to your dream outdoor kitchen as easy as possible.

Choose Your “Plus” Upgrade

Need more utility? The “Plus” option extends any frame and countertop by 24 inches. Use this extra countertop space for a Drawer Bank or a Cabinet, or leave it hollow to create a seamless Corner.

Interlock & Bond

No metal studs. No screws. Stack the solid stone-look blocks and adhere them supplied in easy-to-use caulk tubes). Pro Tip: Every module is fully reversible—build your grill or corner on the left or right to fit your flow.

Why Choose Solid Masonry Frames Over Metal Tubes?

Most ‘DIY’ outdoor kitchen kits are actually just metal skeletons. They rely on thin galvanized steel tracks, hundreds of screws, and flimsy cement board to hold their shape. While they might look okay on day one, metal inevitably faces the elements. Our Modular Cabinets are different. We use solid, high-density tumbled concrete. We don’t build a temporary frame; we stack a permanent masonry foundation that creates a quiet, rot-proof, and rock-solid structure for your premium appliances.

metal grill frames rust

Moisture is the enemy of metal. Even galvanized steel frames eventually corrode at the cut points and screw holes. Our solid concrete modules are impervious to rain, snow, salt air, and humidity. They won’t rust, rot, or degrade.

Our outdoor living kits don't require any cutting.

Forget tin snips, chop saws, and cement board. Metal frames require precise cutting and hundreds of fasteners. Our system is pure masonry: simply stack the blocks and bond them with adhesive. If you can use a caulk gun, you can build this.

Man on Grill Island

Metal studs can flex under heavy granite or premium grills. We don’t have that problem. Our interlocked concrete blocks are so structurally sound that they can support thousands of pounds. Go ahead, jump on the counter. We did (and that’s 250lbs of proof)

Limestone, countertop and sink detail.

We don’t skin our frames with fake veneer. We top them with genuine Indiana Limestone. These 2-inch thick slabs are honed and finished on all six sides for a premium, architectural look that no metal kit can match.

In traditional masonry, creating an L-Shape requires complex cuts and “dead space” fillers.

The Result: As shown in the gallery, arranging the modules creates the layout—no custom fabrication required.

The Linear Run: Connect modules side by side for a classic grill wall.

The “Plus” Solution: Our Unity+ Modules feature integrated extensions. These aren’t just for drawers; they create the open cavity needed to turn a seamless 90-degree corner.

Ultimate Flexibility and Control

You aren’t locked into a single setup. Because the system is modular, you have the freedom to design a kitchen that fits your specific lifestyle—not just a generic kit from a box store. Every Unity outdoor kitchen module is precision-crafted to fit seamlessly together, eliminating guesswork and frustration during assembly. Best of all, each modular kit is designed to be built at your pace, giving you the freedom to assemble quickly over a weekend or gradually when your schedule allows. Effortless doesn’t just describe our assembly; it’s the entire experience, from unpacking your kit to firing up your grill for the very first cookout.

Customer built affordable DIY outdoor L-shaped kitchen

Real Stories, Real Outdoor Kitchens

If I could give Cornerstone Rocks 10 stars, I’d give them 20. From ordering to delivery to support, Jake and Terry are consummate pros. The instructions were spot on, and when we did have a question, a quick call got us right back on track. My friend and I—two old guys—built a Unity C+ and Unity Z+ Deluxe in an L-shape in just two days. Friends are blown away by the results! The only disappointment? That the build was over—it was that rewarding.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a concrete foundation?

Not necessarily. You need a stable, non-shifting base to support the weight. A poured concrete slab is perfect, but you can also build directly on a compacted crushed-aggregate foundation (standard paver base) or on top of an existing, properly installed paver patio.

What are the countertops made of?

We supply genuine Indiana Limestone, a premium natural stone. Unlike cheap pavers or thin tiles, our tops are 2 inches thick, honed, and finished on all six sides for a clean, architectural look from every angle.

How do the modules stay together?

The system relies on gravity and chemistry. The heavy high-density blocks are dry-stacked for a precision fit, then locked permanently in place using high-strength masonry adhesive and caulk-tube mortar.

Can I cut the modules?

You never need to cut our modules to make them fit. The system is designed with standard dimensions to fit the specific appliances we recommend. However, because the blocks are solid concrete, they can be cut with a diamond blade if you have a unique custom obstruction on your patio.
